Web sites
With a web site, we can provide a central location for all the information on a project. By putting it on the web, it becomes easily accessible to the public, and to the project participants. In addition, this is a format that more and more people are coming to expect. Where a town may have been reluctant to provide such access in the past, now they can rely on Chase Brook Associates to set up a site quickly and effectively.

Online documents
When putting documents on the web, it is important that they be accessible, and easy to print. A popular format is the Adobe PDF format. This type of document can be easily viewed or printed on any printer, but cannot be modified. The disadvantage is that large documents can take quite a long time to open, even with a fast connection.

Another format for documents is website format (HTML). In this case, the document is made up of many separate pages, with links to different sections. This makes the document easy and quick to access.

Online forums
With online forums, community members and project participants have a mechanism for discussion outside of the traditional public meeting. Our hope is that this type of tool will enhance public participation.

Surveys
Community surveys are often part of the planning process. We can take these surveys and enter them into an Access database, which allows easy analysis of the results.

ftp access
Sending large documents by email is risky. With ftp access, any document can be sent quickly and safely. We can provide private ftp sites for projects or towns.

Blogs
A web log is an online journal that can provide a running commentary on the status of a project. Again, this can be a useful tool for making a project more accessible and more interesting to the public.
Example: Burnt Rock Technology Blog
